About Oneida: What started out as a self-sufficient religious community has ended up as one of the planet’s biggest makers of stainless flatware. Oneida – named for the New York town where John H. Noyes and his followers settled in 1848 – grew from a small village of people who worked together to make their own food, tools, and of course, spoons and other flatware. Over time, Oneida became known for its silversmithing and fine table products. The company now operates in North America, the UK.., and China, selling both to restaurants and individual consumers.
